Lake District

6th-9th September 2024

a long LeIsurely weekend in the Lake District

Join us next September for a weekend in the Lake District, a place close to my heart where the idyllic environment creates deeper connections and allows you to be nurtured by nature. During this break we will spend time developing our yoga knowledge with active morning sessions and restorative evening sessions, enjoy local walks, wholesome food, and plenty of time to relax from our everyday life.

Friday 6th September to Monday 9th September 2024

Kelly Brooks is hosting and teaching the yoga break in this beautiful location on the outskirts of the historic and picturesque Lake District village of Coniston, the house has sensational views across the beautiful Coniston Water over the lake and surrounding mountains. which has been a source of artistic inspiration.

The weekend includes everything from home cooked vegetarian healthy meals, yoga classes every day, a guided hike, water based activities and stunning views throughout.

The Yoga Practice

A yoga holiday away from your day to day life is an excellent way to experience the full benefits of a daily yoga practice, where we will weave in breath work, meditation, and Yoga Nidra that will nourish your soul and bring you back home to yourself.

We have two dedicated rooms which we will use for our yoga classes. There will be 6 yoga classes during this 3 night break.  Yoga starts on Friday evening to unwind from your journey and on Saturday, Sunday and Monday morning, we begin the day with a two hour yoga class before breakfast.  On Saturday and Sunday early evening restoartive and pranayama classes will take place before dinner. The morning class will be active and the evening sessions will be restorative.

Please bring your own yoga mat, all other yoga equipment is provided (brick, block, strap, bolster, blanket and scented eye pillow), you may also prefer to bring your own props if you have any.

Location

This house is located on the eastern shores of Coniston Water. It is tucked down a very quiet country lane with views across to the fells beyond, right in the heart of the Lake District. This retreat is 3 nights, Friday - Monday morning, to allow you a full weekend and three nights to wind down and switch off.

The house was once owned by William Collingwood, who was secretary to the famous artist John Ruskin and a renowned artist in his own right. And Arthur Ransome, a close friend and author of the world-famous Swallows & Amazons book, spent lots of time here and even taught Collingwood's children to sail on the lake.

There is a lounge with cosy fireplace to relax and read, Sit and enjoy your morning coffee in the beautiful gardens overlooking the lake and mountains. With the village of Coniston just over a mile away, you don’t have to go far to find local pubs, restaurants and shops, hike to Tarn Hows or walk 15 minutes along the edge of the lake to hop in for a wild swim. It is perfect for our group and we have the entire property for our exclusive use with parking available onsite.

Rooms

The rooms are quite large and the house at maximum capacity can sleep 29, but for this break, our group size will only be 16 so we can make the most of the space.

The rooms are a mixture of king-size beds, twins, and bunk beds but only the single beds will be used.

Accommodation for this break, is in double, twin and triple bedrooms. All rooms are ensuite, have hairdryers and towels are provided.  All rooms are sharing and have the option of superking or twin bed set up and luxury Hypnos mattresses ensure a good night’s sleep.

The majority of rooms have west facing lake and mountain views.
