On this snow yoga retreat we will give you a week of mental freedom and physical fitness, so that you can return to the world ready for anything.
Yoga and skiing are paired together for their complimentary effects on body and mind. The mindfulness that you can cultivate while both skiing and doing yoga make them ideal activities for mind-and-body retreats. While both activities improve core strength and flexibility, they also help you to be fully present in the moment. They require concentration without tension – in other words – a balanced and open mind.
The aim on this snow yoga retreat will be to spend as many hours on-piste as is humanly possible. We’ll also be providing a supportive schedule of morning and evening Alignment and Yin yoga with Kelly Brooks. Kelly teaches at Soho House and other London locations. Her background in Iyengar yoga gives her teaching a strong focus on posture, alignment and anatomy.
Together each morning we will do 60 minutes of Alignment Yoga, to warm up our muscles, and to ensure that we are skiing with good posture and a strong and stable core. In the evenings we will do 60 minutes of Yin Yoga, holding deep stretches for long periods of time. This will help to release lactic acid and muscle tension from the day’s skiing, and to increase your flexibility for the skiing days ahead.

Everything has been designed to support and enhance your skiing experience: the yoga schedule, sports massage included in the price, and a teetotal vegan menu designed to be nutritionally appropriate for high intensity fitness activity. Beginner skiers and snowboarders are very welcome on this snow yoga retreat, but they will be required to book into ESF Group Ski School. If you are a beginner-intermediate skier but do not want to attend ESF Group Ski School please take a look at our other yoga retreats in France.
